Community-led Wellbeing Project for Older South Asian Residents aged 65+ in Manchester
Embracing Ageing is a growing “chai and chat” initiative supporting older South Asian residents across Manchester through culturally rooted wellbeing sessions, social connection and accessible health education.
It offers a warm, flexible space where participants can relax, share experiences and take part in activities that support their physical, emotional and social wellbeing.
Sessions run twice a month, with dates scheduled from August 2026 to February 2027. Each gathering is shaped by the interests and needs of the group, so the programme stays responsive and community led.
Recent sessions
Embracing Ageing blends practical wellbeing activities with cultural familiarity and shared learning. Recent sessions have included:
Plant-Based Living and Environmental Wellbeing | 6 August 2026

Participants were keen to continue the discussion, with ideas including plant swaps and exploring how plants are used in clothing.
Knee Pain, Mobility and Ageing | 20 August 2026
